
Alicia Casey, MD, Board Member and Scientific Advisor
Dr. Alicia Casey brings an accomplished 12 year postdoctoral career to the chILD Foundation Board, providing clinical perspective and insights to the Foundation.
She is currently the Attending Pulmonologist, an Attending Physician, and Co-Director of the Pediatric Interstitial Lung Disease Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. As a member of the medical staff at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Casey works every day to improve the lives of the child she is called to serve. She specializes in treating pulmonary diseases, making her no stranger to the spectrum of diseases contained in chILD.
Dr. Casey has been published numerous times and is an active member of the Children’s Interstitial Lung Disease Research Network, which actively pursues research to help improve, and one day cure, the diseases that form chILD. In addition to being a physician at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Casey is a clinical leader driving both the future of the hospitals as well as its medical staff through involvement on several clinical and leadership committees.
Currently a professor at Harvard Medical College, she works with and helps educate some of the brightest doctors of tomorrow. As a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Pediatric Pulmonology Training Director’s Association, and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, Dr. Casey continually keeps up-to-date on new medical information and technologies, helping the Foundation better help the chILD it serves.
Dr. Casey earned her M.D. from the University of Vermont. She completed her internship and residency at Vermont Children’s Hospital, while achieving her fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.
