What are chILD disorders?
Children’s Interstitial Lung Disease (chILD) is a group of rare pediatric lung diseases. There are more than 30 disorders included under the chILD umbrella. The mission of the chILD Foundation is to fund vital research to fight for the promise of more breaths. Such research offers children and their families hope, better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. chILD disorders are true “orphan” diseases, with less than 10,000 estimated cases in the U.S.. Your support will have a truly profound effect on individual children who struggle for each breath and their families that care for them.
A breath is a tiny thing.
It’s easy to miss. And so are these rare lung diseases. The truth is, most of us aren’t aware of chILD because these ailments don’t impact as many children as other afflictions. But that’s why your help can make such a difference in fighting back, and these kids are counting on you with every breath.
