Christina Macrone

Vice President

Christina Macrone is a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in pediatric pulmonary care. She currently serves at Children's Hospital Colorado within the Childhood Interstitial and Diffuse Lung Disease (chILD) Program, where she has worked for several years. With a strong foundation in pediatric nursing, and a degree as an advanced registered nurse, Christina brings both clinical expertise and a systems-based approach to complex care coordination.

Since joining the chILD program at Children's, Christina has played a critical role in its expansion and evolution. She has been instrumental in establishing a joint Pulmonology and Rheumatology multidisciplinary clinic that serves patients with diagnosed or suspected immune-mediated lung disease associated with underlying rheumatologic conditions. In addition, Christina contributed to the development and launch of a specialized pulmonary clinic focused on the pediatric bone marrow transplant population — a vital service for a uniquely vulnerable group of patients. She now provides collaborative nursing support to three specializing clinician physicians in the program as a result of its recent growth.

Christina holds a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Public Health and is a Certified Pediatric Nurse through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Her clinical work is informed by a deep commitment to comprehensive, family-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration. In her spare time, as a Colorado native, she enjoys all things Colorado with her husband, son, and dog.

Christina is profoundly honored to serve on the Board of Directors, and looks forward to expanding outreach and advocacy efforts on behalf of all chILD patients through this important work.
