Maura Rose, Board Member

Maura Rose is from Hopkinton, MA, a town whose claim to fame is the start of the Boston Marathon. Upon her graduation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Maura became very familiar with the Marathon route, commuting (not running!) into Boston, accepting a position in the Pulmonary Department at Boston Children’s Hospital as a pulmonary function technologist. She served in this role for 2.5 years, where she developed strong relationships with families who came to BCH as their home base for their child’s care.

Maura quickly became involved in the division’s clinic management program to create a more streamlined experience for families. Through this leadership role, she learned the importance of care coordination and communication within the department, and its direct impact on patients’ experience and care. This skill set helped transition into her current position as the Primary Coordinator for the Interstitial Lung Disease Program of Boston Children’s Pulmonary Division.

During her first year as coordinator, she worked closely with the very children she had originally served clinically, and loved being able to shift into a long term and trusted relationship with each family. Additionally, Maura has served as one of two hospital liaisons in the Parent Advisory Committee, which has led to the introduction and eventual acceptance into the chILD Foundation.

Maura is excited and honored to be part of the Board of Directors and looks forward to helping implement new ideas for spreading awareness and fundraising initiatives.
